We’re pleased to announce the return of regular Fabulous Furry Folk Nights on the first Thursday of each month, Dora and Nathan will be hosting a cosy singaround in our newly renovated cafe and on the first Thursday of the month, and will surprise us with wonderful folk bands and musicians in the hall on the 3rd Thursday. Check out the event pages for more details.
We will be hosting our ever popular Christmas Markets in addition to our usual Tuesday afternoon markets. Lots of new stallholders to check out, and you can stop off in the cafe for a nice cuppa and home made cakes.
Of course, Shamanic Drumming with Lydia Lite continues on Wednesday evening and our magic hat community celebrations will continue to be held on the solstices, equinoxes and quarter days.
Our Winter Solstice Celebration this year will also be hosted by The Fabulous Furry Folk. Music will include the Solstice Carols Choir led by Tim Hawthorn, and a ceremonial element at the beginning as we gather, and as we close the evening, facilitated by Lisa Goodwin. The rest of the evening is UP TO YOU!! Please bring seasonal songs, poems, stories etc to share; the usual allocated slot is 10 minutes or two songs – unless it gets very busy in which case this is shortened.
We have a wonderful array of events coming up this Winter, and some fabulous new volunteers to help host them. We are often in need of helpers, so please get in contact if you would like to help on the door or as a steward.
On a more practical level, we have invested in a new boiler at long last, so the drip under the stairs will be no more. The upstairs office is the next place to get some love and attention, so please get in touch if you can help with plastering, painting, decorating and/or carpet laying.
In the meantime … Enjoy your crisp and frosty afternoons and hopefully we will see you soon!
